Welcome! I’m Tami McVay. Nice to meet you!
In my life, I’ve found that when I am feeling peaceful and grounded, working out, and feeding my body with the best fuel, I feel unstoppable! Everything else falls into place…I tend to radiate an energy that brings in new friends, relationships, the daily stresses don’t get to me, and overall life is damn good! I am continually finding ways to challenge myself, both mentally and physically, and that keeps things interesting. Life isn’t meant to feel ‘stale’ or ‘boring’! I’m always mixing it up to keep things fresh.
I am here to help YOU mix it up too!

WARNING: I love quotes!I’m like a human dart board when it comes to quotes…a good one hits me and resonates with me and it sticks. I share them every chance I get! I could probably have a full conversation of nothing but quotes. I will be sure to pass them along and share all my favorites on the sidebar.
Honor, Courage, Commitment! This is a motto of the Marine Corps and I live by it! I was born and raised in California, but I’ve called Colorado my home since 1994. I am still a California girl at heart! I have an easy-going, laid back spirit, but have lots of drive. I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and loved the experience. I spent 4 years in the military and then began working at an engineering firm. I didn’t have any experience at the job they hired me for, but I learned fast, recognized opportunities, and evolved into a software developer without having a college degree!
I love fitness, so in 2005, I became an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer. I did it for my own knowledge and to apply to my workouts. In 2011, I volunteered to help at an adventure race and it changed my life. Teams had both disabled and able-bodied participants and most had never done any kind of race, let alone an adventure race! I was so inspired by the athletes and loved encouraging them. I was fired up all weekend and loved how it felt. I ended up seeing a life coach and talked about how to create that feeling in my every day work and escape the corporate cubicle world. Through many months of journaling, soul searching, and recognizing all of the moments in my life that whispered to me, I have discovered that I am meant to be a Wellness & Lifestyle coach. In 2012, I became a Certified Coach Practitioner through the Certified Coaches Federation (CCF) and earned my ACE Certified Health Coach designation in 2013. In 2013, I also became an Independent Beachbody® Coach. Through my studies of the fitness industry, I’ve seen so many success stories of people who have completely transformed their lives by following the amazing fitness programs that Beachbody® offers, I wanted to be a part of the team. Living a healthy lifestyle is a journey.I wasn’t really active when I was growing up. I did normal “kid” things, but never really played any sports. When I moved to Colorado, I started to meet people who did fun, active things. I joined my company’s softball team for playing and beer drinking. I remember meeting a girl who said she was doing a triathlon. My reaction…”OMG, you’re doing a triathlon“. Since that day, I have done several sprint triathlons, olympic triathlons, and even did a half Ironman when I turned 40…just to remind myself that I was stronger than ever! I have done many other cool things, including road biking in the south of France and Spain, mountain biking from Telluride to Moab, ran a marathon, and took 1st place in a 5k snowshoe race (the only time I’ve ever placed in anything…well, unless you count that haiku contest in my sophomore year of high school!). I didn’t always feel ready or fully prepared, but I did it and it’s made for some amazing memories!
I make shit happen. Fact.In my 20s, I was living off of happy hour food and never gave it much thought. Like most women, my weight has fluctuated over the years. I’ve never been one to take up extreme diets, but I gradually eased my way into healthier eating. If you had told me then that I would be putting bee pollen and spirulina in my steel-cut oatmeal, I would have been grossed out. Through constant learning and more awareness of the impacts of food on my body I have evolved to where I am today. I am committed to working with you to find your own path to a healthier, happier way of life! And TA-DA! I am here before you ready to help you step up your game! It’s GO TIME, baby! |
